Dash Sports is excited to partner with OBOTZ/UCMAS Burlington to launch our Shots & Robots series of camps in Burlington, starting this October!
About OBOTZ/UCMAS Burlington
OBOTZ: A hands-on Robotics and Coding program for kids ages 6-13, introducing them to STEM concepts through fun, interactive projects where they build, program, and control robots.
UCMAS (Universal Concept of Mental Arithmetic System) & i-Maths (Interactive Mathematics): UCMAS is a brain development program for children ages 5-13. UCMAS uses the abacus as a tool to train the mind. Children start by learning arithmetic on a physical abacus, then gradually move to visualization techniques where they imagine the abacus in their mind and perform calculations mentally. i-Maths is a unique early learning math program for kids aged 3-7 years that inspires critical and creative thinking in them.
Through OBOTZ/UCMAS programs, kids gain early exposure to robotics, coding, engineering, and math while sharpening their creativity, logical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
Why Shots & Robots?
This innovative camp combines OBOTZ/UCMAS Burlington’s engaging STEM education with Dash Sports’ high-quality recreational sports training. Kids will challenge both their minds and their bodies—building well-rounded skills, confidence, and a love for learning and play. It’s a camp experience like no other!

After two incredible weeks, our Brain Meets Game STEM + Sports Summer Camp has come to an end — and what a journey it has been!
Over the past two weeks, kids explored the world of STEM in creative, hands-on ways. From building spinning tops and mechanical dancers to designing egg-painting machines and bouncing faces, our young engineers discovered how gears, motion, and design all come together to bring ideas to life.
But it wasn’t just about STEM — it was also about staying active and having fun through sports and games. Whether it was soccer, basketball, or tennis, or the fun moments like playing musical chairs, campers built teamwork, confidence, and friendships that will last beyond the summer.
We also loved seeing their creative sides shine — through art activities, storytelling games, and personal touches added to their STEM builds. The balance of learning, play, and imagination is what made this camp so special.
Most importantly, the smiles, laughter, and curiosity we saw every day reminded us why we do what we do: to spark a love of learning while keeping kids active and engaged.
As we say goodbye to this camp season, we want to thank all of the families and campers who joined us. You made these two weeks unforgettable, and we can’t wait to welcome you back for future programs with Young Engineers Oakville and Dash Sports. The success of the camp also wouldn’t be possible without the hard work and dedication of our instructors and volunteers, who made every effort to create safe, healthy environment for the kids to have fun in.
Next up: PA Day Camp on October 10!
Want to join our next camp? Sign up for ourPA Day Camp on October 10 for another day of STEM building, creative play, and active sports — all packed into an exciting full-day experience. Spaces are limited, so don’t miss out!
We kicked off Week Two of our Brain Meets Game Summer Camp with an action-packed, creative start! Kids jumped right into hands-on engineering and creativity — balanced with high-energy sports.
STEM Highlights
Egg Painting Machine – Campers built their very own egg-painting machines. They explored how gears worked and then put their creativity on show as they used the machines to design colourful eggs!
Swing Along – Learning the functions of the worm gear, our young engineers created a moving swing model, learning about balance, motion, and force. They also showed off their innovation by building a slide to go with the swing, replicating a park setting.
Sports Highlights
Along with fueling their minds, it was also time to get active and moving:
Soccer – Kids practiced their shooting and passing skills through exercises and mini-games that focused on teamwork and skill development.
Baseball – Kids brushed up on their batting skills, learning how to swing and hit home runs!
💡 The Perfect Blend of STEM and Sports
Day One of Week Two showed exactly what makes our camp special: the perfect mix of creativity, engineering, and active play. Campers had the chance to learn, build, and stay active — all while making new friends and unforgettable memories.
We are already looking forward to an exciting Day Two!
This week at our Summer Outdoor Multi-Sport program, kids had the chance to dive into the exciting world of Football—and the energy on the field was electric!
From the moment they picked up the football, the kids were eager to learn the basics. They practiced running with the ball, throwing and catching techniques, and boosting their kicks and shots. But more than just skills, they discovered just how much FUN it was to be on the field playing with their teammates and friends – learning together and cheering each other on.
The best parts of the class were seeing the smiles and celebrations after every successful pass or touchdown. For some, it was their first time trying the sport, and the sense of achievement and excitement was unforgettable.
As we move into week seven, kids were excited about coming back, learning a new sport, and having more fun and celebrations ahead!
We’re halfway through the first week of our Brain Meets Game Summer Camp, and the energy, creativity, and teamwork from our campers have been nothing short of inspiring!
Engineering Builds 🧠🔧
In our daily STEM sessions, campers have been diving into hands-on engineering challenges that push their imagination and problem-solving skills to new heights. From designing functional machines to experimenting with creative modifications, we’ve watched their ideas evolve into working models—each one unique and innovative.
Sports Action ⚽🏀
After every STEM learning session, the kids then participate in high-energy sports sessions. Campers have been running drills, mastering new techniques, and working together in team challenges across soccer, baseball, and basketball. Beyond just playing, they’re developing their physical and motor skills, and learning to work together as a team.
Creativity + Problem-Solving in Action 🌟
One of the most rewarding parts of camp so far has been seeing how our STEM and sports activities complement each other. The focus, adaptability, and teamwork developed in the sports sessions are mirrored in the engineering builds, where kids troubleshoot, test, and refine their designs. It’s a perfect combination of mental and physical growth.
We still have plenty of exciting challenges and activities ahead for the rest of Week 1, and we can’t wait to see what our campers will achieve next!
📸 Stay tuned for more updates, and don’t forget—Week 2 (Aug 18–22) will bring a brand-new set of builds and sports activities. Registration is still open for anyone ready for another week of fun and learning – https://dashsports.ca/camps
